Controls in a FormView have a show/hide expression that can be used to conditionally display elements in the form. You can also insert containers into the form layout, allowing you to easily show or hide entire groups of controls. The show/hide expression is a client-side expression specified using Javascript - contrast with client-side show/hide expressions for fields in Grid Components or top-level UX controls which use a syntax that more closely resembles portable SQL syntax.

In the video, "Using Containers to Display Conditional Parts of a Form", we demonstrate how to conditionally display static text based on the value in the State field of the form.
