View Full Version : Is there a limit to the number of Session Folders?

I noticed that the number of session folders is increasing. Only when the WAS is brought down, the folders are deleted.
Is the number of session folders a (potential) problem? Should I do something (logging off or so, but I cannot find anything on that)?

Trying the web server demos (linked from the news letter) I get the To-Many-Open-Tables error). Has that something to do with sessions?

Greetings, René

If your disk is formatted is using FAT32, Windows will limit the maximum session folders to 65,534. NTFS does not have this limitation.

The next A5v6 patch will include a change which will delete the folders as each session expires instead of waiting for the server to be restarted.

The problem over the weekend on the demo server is unrelated to this. There was some code running there that repeatedly opened tables without closing them, causing the too many open tables message.
