I need to access my WAS application that is hosted on my Office server. The problem is that I am using a router and I can't access the WAS by the internal IP address of the server.

Should I be using the router's Ip address or something else?

You will need to use the router's public IP address. You will also need to configure your router to forward incoming traffic on the desired TCP/IP port (default is 80) to your server on the internal network.

David,
You will need to allow the port that you are using to pass through your firewall. Then you will need to do a NAT in your router to translate the outside IP address to the inside IP address. Here is an example of Cisco 12.1 3600 router:
ip nat inside source static 192.168.100.15 64.208.179.56

I hope this helps.
