I have a password form with 3 passwords (encrypted). These passwords are used to enter certain forms in the application. On this password form, I want to make the user have to DOUBLE ENTER the password when they either first add it or change it to another value. As it is now, a user just types the password in then saves it.

Here is field rules->Events for the password field.

dim shared a_field_value as c
a_field_value = encrypt(a_field_value)
end

Any ideas is appreciated. Big thanks.

'dim shared a_field_value as c - dangerous, a_field_value is a system variable and does not need dimming

If you are using the cansave event

a_field_value = encrypt(a_field_value)
second = ui_get_text("Password","Please re-enter for verification","********")
if second a_field_value
cancel()
end if
end

In the example, "second" will never be equal to a_field_value unless you know how to type an encrypted value! Don't encrypt it until after checking the second entry.

second = ui_get_text("Password","Please re-enter for verification","********")
IF second = a_field_value
a_field_value = encrypt(a_field_value)
ELSE
cancel()
END IF
END
