I just recently decided to use the password function for reports, etc. I am running Version 1 on Windows XP. It allows me to enter a password but when I open the report or form to which the password is attached in design mode, it doesn't ask for it and lets me edit the report or form just as if there is no password. I am pretty sure I am doing it right because it works okay on another computer with the Version 4.5 that I am using on it. If anyone has any clues to fix the problem or possibly what I am doing wrong, please let me know. Thanks.

Richard,

A5v1 was designed for Win 3.1. It works well on WIN95, WIN98
& WIN98SE. But XP is based on NT technology, and there are known problems with running A5v1 on NT. In fact, I don't even know if A5v4.5 was certified on XP, since XP is a recent O/S that came out after 4.5. The bottom line is that you should probably wait for ver. 5, due out in June, if you are going to run on XP. I believe Alpha Software has stated it will run on XP, but the final word is with Alpha Software.
