I can find no way to undo "Database Compact" that
I didn't mean for it to compact in the first place.
I was just looking at the list in the "File"
Drop down menu and when I clicked "Database Compact"
just to read the options and what it was about, it
started doing the compacting. It had no cancel
button and when I went up to edit to click "undo"
it was not functional. Four years of lists and
names are now not showing in the program.
The books do not mention Database Compact at all.
Can anyone help? Please!!!!! I have Version 2 for
Windows 95.

Database compact will delete any marked records and then reindex the database.Unless you have marked all of your data the data should still be there. Try to perform a query on one of your dbf's with any field and set the value to >"" . then reopen the dbf. you might find the data still there. Otherwise start looking for a backup copy of the data using windows explorer.
