I'm creating a letter format and I want certain info to remain in a set position.

Example:
Field one ___/___ ___/___
Field two ___/___ ___/___

The info in fields one and two are characters, length of 30,(names) and the info in the field may vary in length (one may be "Smith" and two may be "Voulgaropoulos"). I want the text "___/___" to remain in the same alignment.

I have tried creating a calculated filed hoping that the entire field would be constant on the letter. No luck.

Basically I need help in turning off the "Trim" feature.

If you can, post a sample of the table and support files sufficient to edit the letter design. I'm having a hard time visualizing what you want but would be glad to tinker with a sample.

I understand now. Since you don't want the "benefits" that the rtf object provides by way of automatic shrinking of tabs, etc. I believe you'll be better off reomving the rtf and placing fields, text boxes, etc directly on the letter background similar to what you would do to create a report.
