Hi, I want to know if there is a way of adding a command line parameter in a hyperlink from windows or another application that supports hyperlinks that would open a A5 database then activate an object, i.e. run a query or a report or show a specified record in a form or browse? If this is do-able where in the help files is it documented? Thanks to whoever can answer this question for me.

The autoexec script in an Alpha Five database runs each time the database is opened. You could arrange this script to read values from a disk file each time the database opens. Those values could be used to pass search or filtering criteria to the script. Your calling program would simply have to modify the text file before calling Alpha Five with a command line setting to open the particular database. -- tom
