Is there a way to select all or deselect all choices in a multi-select xdialog field?
There are some cases where I may want to have have all of the choices selected, so rather than clicking on one at a time I would like to click a button and have them automatically select them all.

Thanks.

Steve,

The quick answer is Yes. But just off the top of my head I can't tell you how to do it. If you search very carefully for all mention of dialogs you should find a very good example of what you want to do. I do beleive there is a working example in the Learning Xdialog Manual. It may mean combining the code from two different types of boxes.

Basically you set the result field of the selection list to all records or to blank. In the check box list box below that would mean setting vSelected = vRecords or vSelected = "".

[.15,20vSelected^$$vRecords];

Two buttons on the xdialog would do this.

There is an example of this if you open the A5Doc database (under the a5v5 directory) and look at the select_records() function on the code tab.

Steve:

There is an example in the Learning XDialog Manual Lesson 6.

I hope this helps.
