1. Has anyone had success with spell checking in RTF memo fields. When I click on the spell check icon, the system locks up, and I have to exit a5.

2. How does one apply new patches to the runtime?

3. What are the recommended steps for setting up the runtime on workstations? I have setup the server with the runtime and the data resides there.

Hi Gary,

For question 2:

I believe you just need to run the patch where the runtime is installed and the patch will do the rest...

Just a word of appreciation... I've learned a lot from your posting in this board.. Just want to say thank you...

Cheers

I've just done a simple test for your qeustion 1:

Found that it works fine when I execute the spell check on a simple form or browse. However, nothing seem to happen when I get run it over a set.

But never has Alpha lock my system up...

What system you are running?

There may be several reasons that your system may hang on you:

1) you might have uninstall programs and the OS did not do a proper clean up to you PC.

2) you application drivers were not properly updated ...

When this problem occurs in sets, how do you have the set/forms structured?

I tried doing this with Alpha Sports and had no problem.

I have about six tables all linked up( in a set).
fields in the first two tables are placed(As it is)in the Tabbed object, the other four tables are placed in the Tabbed object using browse.

All fields I have not checked the "Don't Spell Check".

When I execute the spell check, the dialog box did not pop up at all.

Is this what you want from me ...

However, can describe what was your problem... may be it might happen to me someday... Perhaps the rest might share the experience...

Thanks in advance
