I'm running A55 build 1248 on a Gateway Solo 6500 w/ 512 meg of RAM. When editing a form with a browse control, if I bring up the properties for the browse, A5 will terminate. No memory message, no system crash. A5 simply terminates. I have also seen this in the Code Editor when working on Action Scripts. I've changed to a generic text printer driver, but to no avail. Its difficult to work around this; I'm open to suggestions at this point. Thanks!

Get build 1253, but I don't have this problem. Works fine.

I've updated to 1253 and am still having problems. I'd guess some type of video driver or print driver conflict, but its almost impossible to work around.

Clint, what OS are you running A5 on?

Thanks,
Brenden

W2k with sp2. BTW, by video card is an ATI Rage Mobility-M1 AGP. Any little mouse movement with certain dialog boxes in focus will terminate A55 in my configuration.

Change the video driver to generic vga at 12 colors (or whatever is at the bottom) and see if you still have the problem.

And the answer is .....printer driver. As long as I have a generic text driver I can work in the program. If I print to anything from any program other than a generic text driver, then A5 will abort. At the very least, I have to log off and log back in.

Clint, it may be of some help to others if you post the details concerning your printer and your driver. You might also look into the possibility of obtaining a newer driver from the printer manufacturer, or possibly an older driver made for an earlier model of your printer. You might be able to install that driver using a different printer name, and then use that particular printer setup with your Alpha Five reports. -- tom

Yes, let us know the printer make and model, and we'll investigate the problem.

Thanks,
Brenden

after updating to 1255, are you still having this problem?

I also had an early terminate several times. I was working on a REPORT for a client. I went to rename the REPORT to keep a good copy before further edits.

After several attempts of using the "rename" command (under the right click) the program would terminate.

If I used the DUPLICATE command, it worked fine.

I'm on a Dell Laptop (currently) with OS Win 2000.
