How do I get the value of a control in a UX and pass it as an argument in xbasic function?
instead of using e.dataSubmitted.field I tried e.control.field but it is not recognized in the xbasic fnction code when duiring runtime it has an error that says e.control.field property not found.

How are you calling the XBasic function? Why don't you want to use e.dataSubmitted?

You can use the additionalData parameter of the ajax callback method...

I would like to do this also and would love to see a real example of additionalData in a AJAX call back
David I wwant o do this so I dont have to wrie stuff to the UX (usually a hidden field just so that I can use it in a Xbasic function
for example I have a function that I am creating called WriteLog, I want to pass the ContactID, LogNote, CallingFunction, UserID

So 2 of these things are on the US the middle 2 I am creating on the fly so rigth now I need to SetValue to text boxes so that I can then use e.dataSubmitted with in the xbasic function.
It would be handy to just pass these values from a Javascript to the Xbasic Function using additionalData parameter But I need to see a real example rater than just "'data1=value1&data2=value2'"

Use the method A5.ajax.buildURLParam() to help build the additional data for a callback.

var arr = [];
arr.push(A5.ajax.buildURLParam('__contactId',ContactID));
arr.push(A5.ajax.buildURLParam('__logNote',LogNote));
arr.push(A5.ajax.buildURLParam('__callingFunction',CallingFunction));
arr.push(A5.ajax.buildURLParam('__userId',UserID));
var cbData = arr.join('&');
{dialog.Object}.ajaxCallback('','','yourXbasicFunction','',cbData);

Create an array.
A5.ajax.buildURLParam creates the proper format of data1=value1.
Push each param onto the array.
Then convert the array to a string using join... with "&" separating each element

In the XBasic function, your data will be available in e.__contactId, etc.
