Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Phonegap Build error

Hey Guys. sorry to be in here again. seems lots changed while i was away.
Im trying to get a simple app onto phonegap but am getting this error

Error - Plugin error (you probably need to remove plugin files from your app): Fetching plugin "[email protected]" via npm Installing "cordova-plugin-x-toast" at "2.6.0" for android Failed to install 'cordova-plugin-x-toast': Error: ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '/tmp/gimlet/25800380/3249618/www_android/AndroidManifest.xml' at Error (native) at Object.fs.openSync (fs.js:640:18) at Object.fs.readFileSync (fs.js:508:33) at Object.parseElementtreeSync (/tmp/gimlet/25800380/3249618/www_android/cordova/node_modules/cordova-common/src/util/xml-helpers.js:180:27) at new AndroidManifest (/tmp/gimlet/25800380/3249618/www_android/cordova/lib/AndroidManifest.js:29:20) at AndroidProject.getPackageName (/tmp/gimlet/25800380/3249618/www_android/cordova/lib/AndroidProject.js:99:12) at Api.addPlugin (/tmp/gimlet/25800380/3249618/www_android/cordova/Api.js:223:57) at handleInstall (/usr/local/lib/npm/lib/node_modules/pgb-plugman-151/node_modules/pgb-cordova-lib/src/plugman/install.js:594:10) at /usr/local/lib/npm/lib/node_modules/pgb-plugman-151/node_modules/pgb-cordova-lib/src/plugman/install.js:364:24 at _fulfilled (/usr/local/lib/npm/lib/node_modules/pgb-plugman-151/node_modules/q/q.js:787:54) ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '/tmp/gimlet/25800380/3249618/www_android/AndroidManifest.xml' - You can fix this here

i was getting it for lots of plug ins and then found the version number issue in the config file. But before that i disabled all the plug ins that i was getting this error for.
This one seems to be for toast that i can seem to turn off anyway and the version number seems to be ok.

    any help would be great

    Re: Phonegap Build error

PhoneGap Build and Plugins is like putting your hand into a barrel of snakes. You need to provide the Alpha Build you're using, the PhoneGap Version and PhoneGap Builder Version.

The Alpha Build version will determine how smart the Alpha PhoneGap Builder is... and the PhoneGap Versions will help to determine what Plugin Versions you can use.

Overall... it's all a mess... but it's a mess that can work.

Thanks David. I’m on the latest build of alpha.
Is there somewhere that I can see what version of phone gap will work with what version of the plug ins.

        Re: Phonegap Build error

Not really... it's all a crap shoot. I never actually know what people mean when they say they're on the latest build. A number I understand. The PhoneGap Version you need depends a bit on what device you need to support... e.g. iPhone X. Generally... PhoneGap Build 7.1.0 with Builder Version 1 is fairly safe. The latest build of Alpha (whatever that is) should gather the appropriate Plugin versions.

            Roland,

A good resource for trouble shooting PG plugins, is the build log on https://build.phonegap.com

Just login with your account, and under Builds you have a log that will show exactly which plugins are loaded, with some additional info on compatability
