Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

swipe in buttons in a ux list control

Guess this a three part question and would make a useful tutorial video.

1)How can you add a horizontal swipe in buttons to data records in a ux list control?

(eg. An example would be deleting an individual recent call on your iphone.
you swipe left to right and a red delete panel slides in left to right. You tap and the button disappears.)

2)How can you use that button to perform crud operations on an individual record when the button is tapped or clicked? In the case of my example the record
    of the call is deleted.

    3) My next related question would be how to add a checkbox to each record in a list and then using a master button to perform crud operations on the list
depending on the state of the checkbox.

These features are used often in mobile apps, however I don't see them specifically addressed in AA videos or docs, and couldn't find anything on it here.

    Thanks!

PS not sure how that photo got there but thats me at 16 with a Fro. Ha!

Re: swipe in buttons in a ux list control

1 - simply use list horizontal view .. or button list object although i prefer lists objects .

2- i am not sure i got you right .. but if you meant to do multiple functions upon button click or showing the actions have been made to a record
you can do this by javascript action in sequence queue one after next ... do the operation then msg after it ..

3- that would be easily done by javascript .. just place a button check object . ( use free layout list ) for better control over the actions you want to achieve .

then within your javascript .. make a loop for the current view ... and within your loop do the action based on the checkbox selection that's easy to achieve using alpha .

    good luck

        Ahmed,
1)Not sure what you mean: I am using a template in the list layout that is a horizontal view, I can use a button object, but how do i turn that into an out of view
square that appears to be an extension of the record?

        2) A single crud operation like delete would point me in the right direction. I guess you would attach a submit on tap/click event to the button/square.

        3) That's a little beyond my skills.
        Thanks for the help,
        Bob

Oops was using an older version that did not have this property. Downloaded the sample component in the video, picture is becoming clearer.
So I could do crud operations on the row in the Action builder? So say I wanted to delete the record shown? Assuming the list is based on a sql table.
          Thanks!
