Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

  • List Control Not Scrolling In Phone Gap

I have several list controls that were working but are not now as far as being able to scroll down the list with my thumb in my Phone Gap Build Mobile App. It seemed to stop working with changed builds. Any ideas?

Go back to the build that worked and report the error on the build that does't - don't waste your time fixing something you didn't break.

Rolled back to February 16 2019 build but it still doesnt scroll in Phone Gap. It scrolls fine in Chrome Web Browser, which it does the same in the latest build. Maybe there is something else going on? Any ideas? I guess going back to an earlier version isnt going to fix it.

Created new List Control to test and the new List Control scrolls correctly in Phone Gap Mobile App. Does this mean I have to go through and redo all my List Controls or is this a bug?

I'd test them all for peace of mind.

Re: List Control Not Scrolling In Phone Gap

I was using percentages for Height and Width of the control or container in which the control was in, which caused the scrolling not to work.

you can try 100% on the width & screen.height for the height that will probably work to fill the container, but for simple design preferences I just use headers and footers and fill the panel card. This seems to work out and keep a clean look.

You should be using the List property Fill container for mobile.

Yes, but with fill container, if the container's height and width is percentages the list control wont scroll

Re: List Control Not Scrolling In Phone Gap

They have been for me - but if NOT then use 100% width and "screen.height" for the height. That should do it, report back if it doesn't or if it indeed works as expected.
We may be talking about two different things. It scrolls in a panel-card but might have an issue with "containers"
List should be simply set to 100% width
Container: 100% width screen.height for height.
OR eliminate the container and just use the panel-card itself set to fill.

Let me know which setup isn't working for you as both are working as expected for me.

you can also set a "fixed height" for the list control such as 3in and it will scroll if in the end nothing seems to work.
