Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    V12 Help Files

    Hello,

Where can I download a copy of the Help Files

    Re: V12 Help Files

It looks like the help fles have not been updated to include v12. The release notes and videos are (I think) the only source of V12 documentation.

The documentation viewer in the Alpha Five program should have the latest help. You can open the document viewer and use the option to refresh the help topics to get any new and updated information.

There may be some additional samples and help in the release notes, as well as samples in the videos

The videos for sure have updates, but the Documentation still makes no mention of V12 (eg type in UX - nothing comes up) As well as the Whats new for V12 (not there)

          Re: V12 Help Files

I have tried refreshing my documentation but I do NOT have any information on V12. The whats new is NOT there, along with any other non-video related help. Even tried downloading a complete version of the program.

Be aware that refreshing for the help topics will randomly update and sometimes remove some topics. I tried to refresh and it removed over 800 topics, and added 30. then I tried to refresh again and it added over a thousand topics and removed 50. I refreshed it again and the topics that i was searching and looking at disappeared. I did some refresh again and it came back. I will not refresh it anymore because I dont know if the topics are deleted or added with the latest information. Documentation has been a problem ever since according to what I read on past topics BUT I have never found a message board such helpful as this one.

The What's new in V12 is available from a link in the release notes. The link HERE has all features added to Alpha Five V12 compared to Alpha Five V11 until initial release. The release notes HERE has all changes made since V12 was released

                Jerry

Thanks for the info. I have those links already. The question is HOW do we get the full, updated documentation that is a part of V11 so that it has all the information for v12?

I guess this is one of those....glass is half-empty OR the glas is half-full kind of moments. I hope that is an old posting....otherwise it sounds like documentation will be available in v13
