Getting values from a table to a javascript function

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help with this:

In the javascript function below, I need to fill the variable called "data_chart" with data coming from a dbf table. Can I do this?

If that data is available in some component then yes you can get to it. Javascript is client side so it cannot go & get data from a dbf file that is sitting server side.

and then I changed the code a bit to get this... which uses a DBF Table

rs = conn.ResultSetFromDBF(tbl)
dim template as c 

template = "['{js_escape(ds.data(\"Description\"))}', {ds.data(\"Qty_In_Sto\")}],"

dim txt as c 
txt = a5_mergedataintotemplate(template,rs)

txt = rtrim(txt,",")
txt = "[['Description', 'Quantity']," + txt + "]"

dim js as c 
js = "{dialog.object}._data = " + txt + ";"

e.javascript = js

The nice bit here is the function ResultSetFromDBF. Once you have data in a resultset, you can use other functions to easily create the array you need.

You'll see that the array used in the videos is virtually identical to what you want. So you should be able to work it out.

The end result is DBF Data passed back to client-side Javascript.
