I built an application in v10 that has been great and I am upgrading it to v12. The basic structure of my app is that there is a main tabbed UI (the old one with the tabs on the top) which displays various company data. From several grids (and now UXs). The components in the tab panes call a client info sheet (currently in a pop-up) with its own tabs related to that client's info which can be substantial.
In V10 my pop-up window had a scroll bar and it was easy to see the deep info. In v12, I am using a main UX which embeds the tabbed UI (I should probably call it a page layout with a tab control as it was in v10). When one of the grids calls the pop-up, no scroll bar and no way to see the bottom of the window. Modeless and the grid scrolls behind the window. Modal and nothing moves. I am using a session variable for client ID and the info sheet filters nicely on that.
I would love to 1. be able to tell the parent UX to navigate to a different panel. Then, I could just put the info sheet in that panel and it would filter (refresh) on the call; and/or, 2. get the pop-up window to behave over the UX the way it behaved over the grid - scroll. I have seen the videos on executing actions on child embeds with an express alias. I also tried the getParent function, but nothing. Is a UX considered the parent of the components embedded in it?
Any thoughts?
Related issue. I hate the base pop-up in iOS class which otherwise looks just spectacular. The other pop-up classes (eg. grblue - which I think Selwyn uses in the videos - look great. I tried the style override for java elements but no luck. Not a huge problem as the panel style window looks good but I would like to know what I am doing wrong so I have the option of using the simple grblue java window on an iOS classed project.
