Good Morning,
I have one server with A5 v12 and SQL server express 2012 installed and this is working very well.
Yesterday I tried to replicate the same installation in another server. For doing this I installed A5 v12 and later SQL server express 2012. Then I restore both the SQL database and the A5 workspace.
Then I go to create new grid. I test the AlphaDAO connection and I get "Success"
It is all working fine except that now when trying to read a SQL table containing numeric fields I get an error. This error is as follows:
In the SQL genie I base the grid on a SQL Select Statement and I put:
select *
from mytable
and if I execute the query, I get the following error message:
"Database API specific error converting ResultSet to string [Microsoft] [SQL Server Native Client 11.0] restricted data type attribute violation SQL State is 07006"
And If I change the grid configuration and I base the grid on a table I can choose character fields, but I continue having trouble with the numeric fields.
This is what happens with numeric fields:
in SQL I have this: 21,12
and in the grid in A5 shows: 1212
It seems as if the numeric fields are not read properly.
By the way, the table in visual studio looks fine, so it seems as this is an issue to do with A5.
Any idea of what this could be?
Many thanks.
J
