in a UX component get the value on an unbound control

Hello,
I have an ajax callback where I get some of the submitted values in a ux component. is there a way to retrieve the value in an unbound control in that UX ?


dateLimite =e.dataSubmitted.DataLimite[row] ' this is a bound control
strEmail= e.datasubmitted.EMAIL[row] ' this one is unbound, and I was hoping the value could be passed to mycode

I'm talking on a hunch but my guess is, No.There must be a 'path' to the field and the easiest way is to bind the table and the field. Can you not bind the table in question?

You want to use the "Additional Data to Submit" feature if you're designing the callback with the genie. For instance, I have one callback where the value for this is species_selected()

This calls a javascript function:

function species_selected(){
// called from VSPECIES onChange event, to provide value selected to AJAX callback
	var vspecies_selected = $gvs('{dialog.ComponentName}.V.R1.VSPECIES');
	return "vspecies_selected="+vspecies_selected;
}

The value of this is found in e.vspecies_selected in the Xbasic callback code.

If you're not using the genie but simply writing your callback directly in the code editor, it would look something like this:

{grid.Object}.ajaxCallback('G','{Grid.RowNumber}:all','Populate_Animal_Select','',species_selected());

I followed Steve's idea, and it worked very well.

I probably wouldnt need to go this way, because what I intended in the first place, was to retrieve the value of the third column in a bound dropdown control (stored field with column1, display with column2, and column3 the one I would like to pass to the ajax call back).
so i had to add an unbound control, to get that 3rd value from the dropdown.
This turned out to be a good solution, i am just afraid that i am missing a more proper way to do things

You are most kind. My hunch was 'maybe' half right in that Steve provided the path. The 'No' part was a 'bit' off. LOL The main thing is you received an answer which works.
