Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

URL for aJaxCallBack suddenly not working.

    Greetings,

I cannot seem to retrieve or submit data out of a sudden. I have been using the same URL for all ajaxCallBack since about a month ago. Last week I could still submit/retrieve data from my database table. Why is this so?

It is working fine in the "Working Preview" but not on my device.

    Regards,
    PolarBearCUS

Are you working with a Local Server? If so, check to see if your IP address has changed.

I am working with a remote server. The IP address didn't change nor was there any configuration changes.

I cannot SUBMIT and RETRIEVE data from my database table. I have inserted an alert message in the onAjaxCallBackFailed Client-Side Event and yes the alert message appears whenever i try to retrieve or submit data. The URL for AllAjaxCallBack has not been changed and is correct and the remote server where i publish my files has not been touched either. Please someone enlighten me.

Found out something new. My previous apps can connect to the database table in my remote server now. It is just an app I am currently working on which cannot SUBMIT/RETRIEVE data. Please do share your thoughts on why is this happening.

Look under Validation and Error Reporting. Is "Submit dialog if has client-side validation error" checked?
Lastly, delete you databindings and recreate them.
Make sure you have the ExecuteServerSideAction("Get Primary Keys for Parent Table::Load_Primary_keys_for_Parent_Table") in the onDialogInitialize event.
                  and in the afterDialogValidate
                  ExecuteServerSideAction("Save Data::Save_Submitted_Data_to_Table_s_")
You could also delete the submit and reset buttons and re-create them as well.
If your connection string is valid there should be no issue.

I have tried everything you said to do. Delete and recreate databindings. my save submitted data server side action is in after dialog validate and recreated the submit and reset button. My connection string is valid. I CAN submit and retrieve data from "Working Preview" just now on the app when I install it on my device. I don't think the problem lies with any of the controls or databindings. I think the problem lies with the URL for all ajaxCallBacks.

So my workflow is basically like this, A list control of data, tap a specific data row and it navigates to a page of using the "Populate UNBOUNDED UX component from table" and then the SQL State is :08001. "Check if instance name is correct and if SQL server is configured to allow remote connections." This error should not appear as I CAN access it in the "working preview"

My URL for all ajaxCallBacks should not be a problem as the ip address did not change only the folder name has been changed. Is it a publishing problem? or is it phonegap? I am stuck at this for over a week already and haven't gotten anywhere. I appreciate your help thank you so much for the reply.

Where are you publishing your UX? What is the IP and folder... the whole string... where your UX is being published?

As well... list your URL for Ajax Callbacks. Without any specific information it's impossible to tell what's going on.

Re: URL for aJaxCallBack suddenly not working.

I publish the UX to my development machine's local webroot folder called "FolderC".
Then i Copy whatever is in this "FolderC" and paste it into the document root, which also named "FolderC", of the Alpha Application Server which is running on a remote server(121.200.240.xxx:81).(I cant publish directly because I do not know how)
So therefore my URL for all aJaxCallBacks would be http://121.200.240.xxx:81/FolderC right?

I have been doing this For quite some time and it always works. Somehow this time it isn't. :(

Sounds like should work, although I follow the correct process for publishing, so I don't know what could be going wrong.

For publishing, set up a new Profile pointing to your site. Then, when you click to publish from the Control Panel, you'll get a list of sites to publish to.

Well somehow when i click Test FTP Login it gives me :

                              331 password required for administrator
                              530 Login or password incorrect!

If i can access to it how come alpha cannot? Even with the port number I cannot access it. Or what would you do to create a publishing profile?
