Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

You have something wrong, I know it can be frustrating. Your going to have to start over on your publishing profile. Heres what I did Go to the Web control panel / click on "Profiles" Create a New Profile.
Under general select Publish via FTP and InternalOptimised
then put the IP of your server, Username,PW and the webroot folder.
select any of the other settings that you feel apply to your setup or application/website, like security data, etc.
If you cannot connect then there is something wrong with the IP the username or password - period.

After that, you may need to setup a path alias for some things but no matter what if you can't upload because your getting a username or password error then the chances are that you've entered them incorrectly. I can say that with a fair amount of certainty because the rest of us regardless of version all seem to be able to connect this way. I do not know of any changes Alpha announced would affect FTP login.

Good luck, take your time and be patient. Alpha can connect with the proper credentials, at least for me!

Re: URL for aJaxCallBack suddenly not working.

Well I found a clue to what might be the problem with the failing URL for all aJaxCallBacks. So the following will allow you to grasp my current situation:

AppA(ID123) connects to SQL Server database tableA in a remote server which is currently installed on my device.

AppA(ID143) cannot connect to SQL Server database tableA in a remote server which is also currently installed on my device. BUT i can connect to the table in Alpha software "Working Preview" or Emulator

I cannot remember the previous ID because i deleted the app so i just changed to another ID, I am sure this is not the problem. Both the config file are the same.

The only difference is that I have changed work stations.(Is this the problem?)

The URL for all aJaxCallBacks is the same http://121.200.198.xxx:xx/FolderA

Re: URL for aJaxCallBack suddenly not working.

Here's what you should do. Stop wasting your time. Create a new Alpha Project. Copy your UX into this new project. Set up a new Profile in this new Project. Set up a new Alpha/PhoneGap Build project and configure it. Delete the existing app from your device and from PhoneGap Build. Build your UX that exists in your new project. You're running around in circles not getting anywhere. Stop running and starting re-building. You don't need to re-build your app... just shove it into a new Project start new with a PhoneGap Build App.

I have done what you have advised. I have created a new project, a new profile, deleted and created a new Alpha/PhoneGap Build Project and configured it. Deleted the existing app from my device. It still does not work.

Sounds like your Alpha DAO Connection is wrong.

This is in the publishing profile right? I am using the default value connection string which points to the remote server database table.

Re: URL for aJaxCallBack suddenly not working.

Does the connection string actually read "Default Value"? If so then, while you're in that dialog "Edit Named Connection String - AlphaDAO", click on your Connection Name, then click on the Edit Connection String, then click Set to Default Value and the connection string should now read the actual connection string. Save and publish your project. Then either restart your server or wait a bit, then rebuild your app, re-install, and try again. The only other thing you can do is post a private message here. I'll reply and then you can email me your full project and I can have a look. You've got something set wrong.

I don't think it has anything to do with Alpha. But this is the only place I can seek help for being that Alpha is my development platform. I will look at other places for help first. If I have found a solution I will share my findings, if not I will send you a private message. Thank you for all of your help.
