Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Cornelius, if you have identical paths you can even hard code the path, although I wouldn't recommend that. Are you using the [AnalysisImages] alias in both developer and web? One alias, two different paths (or one path a you have indicated if you prefer).

        Hi Peter,

Yes I'm using exactly the same on the developer as well as server. Easier for me as there are Multiple [4] image folders and I do not want to struggle with manual paths.

My image upload "path" uses the same alias than my profile.

        I just want to clarify again;
An image in a normal report works fine [Even when published to the server]. The same images from a subreport in a normal freeform report works fine [Even when published to the server]. An image from a LINKED report in a freeform report does NOT display [When published to the server].

so the problem is not transparency or path, then. it is the linking.
will you create an entirely new report on the master and link only one sub report and see if it works on the published location, if it does then add the second one and see if it still works?

Done that. Subreports does display all images, just duplicates of them. Linked reports does not show the images.

Is there any way I can manually check the linkage values?

                sir,

The linked report works great and have NO repeated images. It just does not show the images. It does show ALL the other text fields correctly however.

I have recreated from scratch a new free form report as well as a new layout table report. I put the layout report in the freeform report as a linked report. Same same results. Text firlds have no issues. Images does not show once the free form report is run.

How can I verify the actual link of the image?

                          Hi GGandhi,

Sorry to only come back to only now. I have all but given up on this. The linked report options give me exactly what I want [without duplication], but don't show the images when published.

The subreports options shows the images when published, but gives me duplicates, no matter hoe I group or what I do. I have even tried various query methods and have different results on all.

The 1st query I ran is this [but still gives duplicates]. PLSE look at bottom for the query that gives the closest result.

                          option 1SELECT
                          dbo.QuickSpec.QuickSpecID,

                            Hi Peter / GGahndi

Can we have another go at this plse.

I have uninstalled aplpha5, formatted and reloaded my dev machine. Reloaded the most updated version of alpha Anywhere developer. NOW i am getting the same issue as on the web server.

Linked reports works great except it does not show the images, even on my development pc. The images is there in the correct directory. If i call the grid from where i uploaded the images, then they show in the grid. If i run the linked reports seperately [before pulling them into my main report], it shows the images correctly. ONCE i "link' these reports in my main report, the text fields from the link reports displays correct, the images however, is missing.

I believe the issue is with the link to the images once it is called from the main report.

Peter how can i hardcode this patch to the images in the main report?

                            PLSE test this for yourself;
Main Report is a freeform report.
2 x linked reports is table layout reports
Images is "Image Reference Fields" on SQL

I am happy to report that this issue is CLOSED AND RESOLVED.

Thanks to Selwyn and Cian the issue was identified to be HTML rendering related. Linked reports is HTML reports in disguise. They fixed it in a ridiculous short time.

                              RESPECT!!!!!!!
