Hi Gregg,
That's very kind of you and I may take you up on that. In the meantime I started redoing the letters as reports and still running into frustration. First of all, I am creating the report in the Control Panel and, because this is so screwed up, I created the same one in the Web Project Panel. This is only on my desktop, not online.
I am using the RTF object on the reports so that I can have text and fields.
Problem 1: If I create a grid and attach the Control Panel report to a button it will print to PDF. If I do the same for the Web Project report I get the same error(s) as before (but not always).
Problem 2. From a button on a grid linked to my Control Panel report the PDF prints as it should. Doing the same for the Web Project report I get text running together, the letter I missing in the title, a missing space between two words.
Problem 3. I then created a new report in the Web Project. I simply typed a paragraph into an RTF object. The print preview shows the text correctly but again the result from a button on a grid is screwed up.
My questions are:
- Where am I supposed to create reports? In the Control Panel or Web Project panel and what is the difference? I know the difference for me is that CP works and WP doesn't but I was told in another post some time back to use the WP.
- Is the something I am not doing regarding the RTF that is making the text run together, just completely ignore a letter, and randomly not put spaces between words?
- Should I be using the HTML object instead of RTF? and what is the difference between the two?
Hoping someone can put me out of my misery and frustration. This has taken so much of my time.
Thanks
-John
