Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

The disappearing list and its entire UX!

I have a UX that contains a list control. Exhibit_Central contains WaterQuality_Tests_v3.When I load Exhibit Central (and of course WaterQuality_Tests_v3) - it seems to load fine, but with this in Chrome console:

    POST https://animalwelfare.app/Exhibit_Ce...C&__unsaved=no 500

So I can let it sit there for about 3 minutes, and then WaterQuality_Tests_v3 basically disappears. The UX seems to "unload" and doesn't even consume the space it should. And, I get this in console at the time it disappears:

If I remove the list control in WaterQuality_Tests_v3, everything loads without error, and never disappears nor produces the errors I show here.

This is in build 5566. I even deleted the list control, and completely rebuilt it, even with a different name, but nothing changed. It's been working fine in previous builds for a couple years or more.

After nearly a week on this, I'm way out of ideas. Anyone have suggestions?

i'm on 7564 - I had a fully functional demo working - closed the system, come back 10 days latter and the entire thing displays nothing - tried everything i could think of - very worrying.. I don't know what to do.

Bumping this in hopes of some suggestion. We've been trying to upgrade to a current version for months now, and if I don't solve this, we're stopped again despite a huge investment in the attempt.

I found my issue and it was my bad - several weeks ago i inadvertently added a space to a SQL table in error, the minor table caused major disruption, anyhow after many lost days I found my error - so the lesson learned is don't expect an error message warning of such an issue ('as table not found') when using a Viewbox with a Nested Query - the UX just dies without a hint.

Steve if the list control is in a container set to fill container - and it refreshes (say on a timer event) and returns no records it collapses the the control (maybe even destroys it), I know this is like clutching at straws but may be of help.

There's no timer event anywhere. I've tried the list without a container along with specified height & width. I've also tried a container with specified height & width with the list set to fill the container.

But, it's not just the list control that's gone. All other controls on the same (child) UX are gone too - a couple of buttons, a search feature and a viewbox. The whole UX: poof!

So you are calling a child UX - with a LIstControl and some other controls. What is the target definition? Are you setting your own UX Alias? is it as the Target - Window, DIV, Panel or, Dynamic Panel? And what is the type?

Thanks for the offer - this is only a small part of so many others that it would take me days just to cut it out and provide a useful model.

Have you tried using 2 panel cards, putting the list on the 2nd panel card, and manually sliding to the new panel card and see if the list populates? Or maybe attach a few images of your screen in live preview if it works there, or just a screenshot of your controls.
