Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Panel Card Embedded Object refreshing

I have a UX with a Panel Navigator which is set to programmatic. Inside are two Panel cards, the first Panel Card has a list of customers and when you click on a customer it is set to navigate to the second Panel Card which has an embedded UX that has a few ViewBoxes for displaying customer information. It is a fairly dense UX and therefore I have it set to synchronize when a customer is chosen so that the UX doesn't have to be completely reloaded. That being said it still takes two seconds for the data to refresh. The end result is that after the animation slide from left to right occurs the old information from the previous customer is still showing for a second or two and then transitions to the new data. I dont like the look of that as it doesn't seem like a professional transition.

I am looking for suggestions of how to make this process look cleaner for the end user.

    Thanks
    David W.

Why are the Viewboxes in an embedded UX? They so light weight, just add them to your Main UX - what does 'It is a fairly dense UX' mean?

Pete is right, the go to way I build all my forms now is a viewbox formatted as a list in one panel which refresh other panel(s) with viewboxes then docked panels for editing/adding information so much faster than lists

        My Rule.
Anyone not using this process is missing the Royal Jelly of AA.. it's special - especially if you understand the consumption of data by a user, vs the capture of data they are two very different things - whenever your are showing data to a user the viewbox is th goto control, if you are 'snap capturing' (user clicks and navigation and search) again Viewbox - if you are doing complex data entry then a List control can be used sparingly. If you want light components that FLY on the web, - follow the rule.
        Cheers - Pete

Thanks for the feedback, My first Panel with the list of customers uses a List Control because the table holds many records and I display an image as well so I opted to use pagination. I also have many different ways of searching the list so that a list control seemed to be the way to go. The Customer detail Panel uses 9 seperate viewboxes for displaying different aspects of the customers information. For example one viewbox is just the customers phone numbers and another email addresses etc. When I was first starting to use AA I crammed everything into one UX and it took way to long to load. After doing research and watching Selwin's video's it seemed to me that using embedded UX's are the way to go spread things out.

Are each of the Viewboxes in a panelcard of their own?

No they viewboxes are all on one panel card and progressively show different information as you scroll down.

I faced a similar problem, what I did was make the loading .gif fill the screen so that the user cannot see the data load/disappear...still struggling with the viewbox and how I might want to use it.

use one Viewbox and have the content created buy a SQL view that pulls it all together from the various tables. It's a no brainer. Here's a sample.

If a customer has multiple records in one table and you want to show all of them, for example 3 email addresses or multiple orders for one customer is where I need to break out into a new ViewBox.

Everything you see are multiple records, that's the point i'm making. The Connector table groups them based on either TennantID or EntityID

To make it easier just use the Nested Query when selecting the Query Type
