Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Tab Control in UX Panel Card

Tab Control in UX Panel Card

I have a Tab Control in a Panel Card that has 6 Tabs.
When in the Panel Header the Tab Control works fine, but when between the Panel Header and Panel Footer only the first 3 Tabs display properly, the rest are blank.

The problem with the Tab Control in the Panel Header is that it makes the section quite tall. So, if the user reduces the window height the Panel Header does not have a vertical scroll bar - only the Panel Card "body" has a vertical scroll bar.

So I prefer to have the Tab Control in the Panel Card "body" but only the first 3 Tabs display properly.

Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing?

I thought about doing away with the Tab Control and using a Radio Control to set a value that determines which frame to display and hide the other 5 Frames. But hidden frames do take up some height and push the objects below further down the screen.

Is there a way to prevent hidden objects from taking up height?

Use Panel Navigator in Tab Mode. See Video below.

      Hi Pete,

Thanks for the info and video. It was a great help in solving the problem with a UX that had a Tab Pane that was full width. Your effort is very much appreciated.

In my other more troublesome case, I have two columns of controls. On the left is a list control where I can search and find a record that is then edited in the right-hand column that is comprised of various controls, including a Tab Control that will only display the first 3 of 6 Tab Panes. I don't want to put the list control in a separate Panel Card. So maybe my Button and Frame solution will be the best I can do, but I am as always, open to suggestions.

Regarding the other issue raised, I did reduce the whitespace in various UXs setting the UX Property " A5CWLayout class padding" to 1px (it was 4px) as mentioned in some other posts that I found.

      So I am making progress

The attached video says it all.

This is in response to the 'open to suggestions part of the post, and it achieves the outcome in a fully responsive layout control.

Video and the UX are attached.

          Hi Pete,
Thanks once again. Your UX sample was a HUGE help that set me in the right direction. Seeing how the PANELLAYOUT can be used was the breakthrough I needed.
