Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Most stable build prior to 7776_5597

    What is the most stable build prior to 7776_5597 Jul-13-2021? I am reluctant to upgrade when things are working but I don't want to fall too far behind. I am currently using 6699 5464 19 MAY-2020

    The savelistedits is not working consistently in my app which has been working since 2016.
    Without reproducible steps, the onAjaxFail event is fired before the timeout and does not complete the update. It will succeed on subsequent tries. I copied the ajax options from the documentation hoping it would solve the issues but the error messages persist.
    I know there was a new property called checkifserveravailable which defaulted to true with a 2-second timeout. I read something about chunked responses that defaulted to true in all cases. I had to modify all the safeListEdits throughout my application.

    I have a deadline looming this Friday and need some help to determine the best course of action.

    Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

    {dialog.object}.saveListEdits('LIST_SCHEDULE',
    {
    rows: 'current',
    ajax: {
    timeOut: 15000,
    onAjaxFail: function() { a5msgboxok('The update to server failed.<br>\nPlease try again. (2)'); } ,
    onDeviceOffline: function() { a5msgboxok('No connection.<br>\nTry again later when you have connection. (2)'); },
    onServerNotAvailable: function() { alert('The server is not available. (2)') },
    performspeedtest: false,
    amountofdatatosend: '.1MB',
    maxspeedtestduration: 200,
    onPoorConnection: function() {alert('Internet connection too slow. Please try later. (2)'); },
    checkifserveravailable: false,
    serveravailabletimeout: 10000
    }
    }
    );

    Personally I would stay away from 7776_5597 - but if you want help to fix the issue you need to tell us more about the problem, what are you using List wise, list with detail view, UX bound list, where did the code come from for the button action against the database - the more you tell and show is the best way to go.. so over to you.

      7295 has been working well for me for some time now. Prior to that 7086 was my sweet spot.
