Loop through selected rows in a list

Hi,
I need to update a table according to selected rows in a list.
I added a list with multi-select.
Then I am issuing an ajax callback with the selected rows.
unfortunaly the parameter sent to the callback is not an array.
this is what I am doing :

lOdbj = {dialog.object}.getControl('LSTCALLHEAD');
mSelected = lObj.selectionKey;
{dialog.Object}.ajaxCallback('','','Assignagents','', "_idList="+mSelected);

the e._idList in the calback is not array.
what I need is issue an SQL command that will update a field according to selected rows in the lsit.

any help ?

This loops through a list using JavaScript. You can get any value the list contains, and build a string in the format you need, then update a control with the result.

var _listObj = {dialog.object}.getControl('List');
var selectData = __listObj.selection.length;

for(i=0; i <selectData.length;i++) {

var _x = _listObj.selectionData[i].FieldName;

// do something

}

// do something with the result

This is what I am doing now. the problem is this is slow.
What I need to do is :
allow the user to select as many rows as he needs then click on a button that will update a field in the database for all the selected record.
With this solution, if the user selects 100 rows, then I am issuing 100 ajaxcallback.
What I wanted is to have access to this array on the server side, so I can Iusse one call back.
As an example.
if the users selects 100 records, and I want to mark all these as delivered (simply updating a field with 1)
If I have access to this array on the server side. I could issue 1 statement (update orders set delivered =1 where id in (thearray)

I prefer using the checkbox control property in the list control. I also make sure the list control is returning the primary key of the record in the "Return value type" property. You will need an argument for this example. I've called mine ARRAY_INVOICES. It's important that the ARRAY_ precedes you argument name.

Here is an xbasic code snippet where I bring in the argument value into the function for use in a SQL statement.

Alternatively you can also send the list's selectionData to the xbasic function as well. It's not an array at that point but in json. Also requires additional formatting in xbasic to work.
