Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Loading Parent UX onto Child UX using Panel Cards

I am having trouble loading a parent UX onto my child UX. I have tried to load the whole parent UX onto the child UX by embedding an object. On the child UX, I went to properties tab, I have selected integrated login, after login behavior has focusPanelCard selected, the target panel is the panel that has the embedded object in it. Then when I live test, I can login, but it just shows the working message. Any tips on how to get this ux to load? Am I selecting something wrong?

FYI, this is for a mobile app with security and I'm using community edition

I am not sure what you mean by loading parent ux onto child ux. The parent UX comes first and then the parent UX can have a child UX.

Is your terminology just wrong or are you doing something unexpected?

I know this is for a mobile app, but you should still be able to run the UX from a browser, live from the server. What happens when you do that?

What does it say in the developer console?

I'm fairly new, so I'm sure my terminology is wrong.

I've created a mobile app that has two projects within it. One is titled "Default" and the other is titled "Security". I'm trying to set up the redirect page when you login to go to the "Default" one. The "Default" is the parent UX, and the "Security" is the child UX. When I got to the properties of the "Security" UX to select the redirect page, I am only able to select from panel cards within the "Security" UX and not the "Default".

It looks like my embedded object is loading when I grant all access but if I require login on it, then it will not load.

If you are using the integrated login with the after login page set to Focus Panel Card then you have to set security on both UX's to always allow. The login page needs to be accessed before login is complete and the embedded UX goes into a reload loop if it is set to require login. I'm not sure if this is a bug or by design but that has been my experience. I think this is still secure because the panel that has the embedded UX can only be accessed after login.
