dymanic widget/control events definition

Following these videos showing drag and drop functionality between two list boxes and wanted to find out how I would dynamically define widget/control events as part of a general workflow where other settings to controls are happening in given situations.

I've read this a few times but I could only guess at what you're trying to ask... but it'd be clearer if you provided a scenario that illustrated your question.

Javascript events defintion at build time are ok if you know before hand what operations are needed, with all the switch cases that they may need. But a scenario might be that a dynamic ux view might need that function re-written in some fashion hence a need to be able to define the function say the onClick event for a button to perform this new task an maybe return the original function back to the definition in other circumstances.
My thinking is that these code events can be defined say in the database as part of the data store. In this case, looking at the events list will show none defined as the image indicates since the functions will be "attached" to the controls at runtime. Hence the question is how-to create the functions and associate it to a control, something on the lines of addClass() in javascript when chaining classes to a control.

I understand now what you're asking. I'm not sure the environments we have to work with are conducive to this type of process. It would be a lot of work to build something which could scan and replace sections of a UX in code. Further, it's fine to have your "dynamic" code sitting in the database but you'd have to initially write that code, test it, then save it. You'd have to have another full process for design which would build the UX for you in design mode, allowing you to change and test code, then update the database. How many "versions" of a UX would you have that would contain basically the same controls, but have different code for different events for each control?

The mentioned scenario might be a one off but more to the point, the how-to since the videos show a list control implementing drag and drop functionality and wondered how I would add this feature/functionality to other controls. The code in the videos show

My trial was to just add an event to a control as follows for a button and a text (satic) control, in each case, this failed. did also try the 'abstractdownhold'.
