In listcontrol, select all options function

Hey There

Thank you for taking the time to look. Your time is appreciated.

I have a list control. Underneath I have a checkbox that will allow the user to 'select all' items in the list control.

Is there a singular function available to do this without iterating through all the items and manually selecting them?

For instance, there's the lstObj._deselectAll(); function that works nicely. Is there a version of this that selects all the list items?

Sure is...

var lObj = {dialog.object}.getControl('[COLOR="#FF0000"]Your_List_Name_Here[/COLOR]');
lObj._selectAll();

Hey Mike - I just tried your exact code. I can get the delselectall to work, but not the select all. Were you able to successfully utilise the select all?

I'm not sure what's happening because my code is this:
var lstObj = {dialog.object}.getControl('template');
if ({dialog.object}.getValue('Select_All')){
lstObj._selectAll();
}
else {
lstObj._deselectAll();
}
control selectall is a checkbox.
It works for deselectall but not select all.
And when I look at the listObj in the firebug DOM panel, I can see _deselectAll but not _selectAll.

??Puzzled!

Try this in your checkbox...

var check = {dialog.object}.getValue('[COLOR="#FF0000"]your_checkbox_name[/COLOR]');

if (check == 1) {
	var lObj = {dialog.object}.getControl('[COLOR="#FF0000"]your_list_name[/COLOR]');
	lObj._selectAll();
}

Also ...I made my checkbox numeric, defaulted to 0, and treat as logical...

Thank you Mike. The code makes sense, and as you showed, I implemented.
Unfortunately, it still wont select all.
Did your list have any particular properties that I'm missing? My list has multi select - is there anything else I'm missing?

No ..nothing special going on with my list. Take a look at this sample component. In it is a list with static data and a checkbox that selects all (and deselects all when unchecked).

Hey Mike,
The component didn't work for me so I'm wondering if I should do a re-install of alpha. If that doesn't help then I'll ask a workmate to try on their computer.

Hey Mike, do you mind sharing what version and build you're working from?
Ours is version 12.3, Build 2689
And the component is not working on either of our computers.

Interesting, I am on 12.3 Build 2689 and the ._selectAll() in that demo does NOT work for me either, very strange

I'm on the latest official build: 2999-4519.
