Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Configuring SSL certificate for alpha web server

    Hello all,

I am trying to configure SSL for my alpha server, for some reason it's not accepting the SSL claiming that private key does not match.
Can someone help me or guide me through the necessary steps to configure the server so that it works as https not only http?
is there any trick behind this?

    Thanks, in advance.

I cannot manage to generate them to attach them in the server, it keeps giving me a message claiming the private key do not match although I provided the same password.
Should I give a try using OpenSSL?

I use "Let's Encrypt " free version on my local server.

The private key would have been generated when you created the CSR (certificate signing request). If you no longer have that private key file, you will need to create a new CSR and have your certificate reissued with the new private key.

Thank you Lenny for your response.

Allow me to provide an update on the matter at hand. Despite diligently following the necessary steps, the alpha server is currently rejecting the generated CSR certificate. Each time a new CSR certificate is generated, an error is encountered stating that the private key does not match. it's like the alpha server is encrypted.

Furthermore, there seems to be an ongoing issue where the generated certificate undergoes continuous changes.
Additionally, we have observed a peculiar behavior with user passwords. Whenever a password is set for a user, it inexplicably changes within a mere 10 seconds, necessitating repeated resets.
Any idea what's going on? or what I should do in this case?

You are mixing terminology which unfortunately confuses the situation. Also you are now introducing a completely different issue, which is entirely independent of your server TLS configuration.

A CSR is a Certificate Signing Request, it is not a certificate. When you generate a CSR, the first thing generated is a private key. The private key will be saved as a file in a specific directory. I strongly recommend either using a new directory, or deleting any contents from previous failed attempts in order to prevent confusion. The CSR will then also be saved in that same directory and it uses a public key which depends on the private key that was just created. If you get any errors in this process, please provide the exact error text.

You then submit the CSR to a Certificate Authority (CA). Once approved by the CA, they will issue a certificate to you. Next you configure your server to use the matched pair consisting of the private key file generated in the step above and the newly issued certificate. If you get a message that the private key does not match, you are not using the correct private key file that matches the CSR you submitted to the CA. You need to find the correct private key where it was saved when you generated it. If you cannot find the matching private key, you will need to generate a new CSR (and private key) and use it to have the certificate reissued.

Nothing in Alpha Anywhere or the Application Server can write a private key except for the CSR generation process. If your private key file truly is being changed unexpectedly, something else is changing it and you will need to identify what that may be.

Thanks for your detailed explanation, Lenny, I will go through what you have suggested.
                I have found
