This is driving me nuts! Had this working just fine and then *something* changed and I lost the behavior I am looking for.
Have a read-only Grid with an updateable Detail view. On the Detail view is a TextBox that is set up with a Lookup to pull data from a different table (e.g. ProductName on Detail View that does a Lookup from ProductMaster).
The Lookup uses a Grid component. In addition to returning the 'key' field of the row that was selected in the Lookup grid component, I am also filling in a number of other fields in the Detail view with values from the Lookup grid using the field mapping options.
The Detail view has several controls that I want to Show or Hide, depending on the values in related fields from the Lookup. IOW - the Detail view needs to prompt the user for associated details that are dependent on the attributes of the item selected in the Lookup. For example: Product A requires Options 1 and 2 to be populated, but Product B only requires Option 2. So, when Product B is selected from the lookup grid, I want to hide the input field (on the Detail view) for Option 1 which isn't needed.
So the Hide/Show expressions work fine in Edit mode, but they are ALL (apparently) being evaluated as false in Insert mode.
Again,.. I had this all working fine and then something went haywire. Have tried putting Show/Hide expressions on the controls themselves and also putting the controls in a DIV/Container and using the Hide/Show logic on the DIV instead. ALL of these ideas only work in Edit mode.
Aaargh!
