Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    List search not working in Phonegap

    Hi, I have simple browser/mobile app which read a XLS file and shows it's content on list. List selection works fine and search works on
    live preview and in remote test on browsers. Unfortunately search and clear buttons does not work on phonegap build ?
    What might be the problem ?

    Search is implemented in AA as Style: SingleKeywordCorntrol, one field and LIST1_KEYWORDSEARCH

    Using latest AA and phonegap build is 3.7.0

    Yours

    If you could build a simple example UX which exhibits this behaviour I'll build an app with it and have a look. When you write 'latest AA' do you mean Build 2999?

      Hi Davidk,

      yes I'm using build 2999. Here you can find simple app https://www.dropbox.com/s/fd04i2bkgh...searc.zip?dl=0
      which works on browser, but not as phonegap on android. So clear and search buttons do not do anything. On browser
      search reach text on one field and it works.

        Thanks Ari. I want to make sure we're working with the same stuff. If you could post a sample VM_Dokumentit.xls file... with just a few "records" then it will be a valid test.

            I see no issues under Android or iOS. Search and Clear are working as expected. Are you sure you have your URL for Ajax Callbacks set correctly in the PhoneGap Build Builder?

                  Re: List search not working in Phonegap

                  no, this xls contains filenames of autocad drawings ( .DWG ), and when user clicks one row, app should show him this drawing in pdf form. Before start loading the pdf I would like to check if it exist. There might be files which are not converted ( from .DWG to PDF ) yet.

                    Re: List search not working in Phonegap

                    This may depends on how your app is set up and working, where your pdf files are... etc. There are a lot of variables here.

                      HI Again,

                      the plugin actuallu solves the issue, but I have another question.
                      If I place these .pdf files on alpha server A5webroot/pdfs folder. How i resolve url to these files, if use handleDocumentWithURL plugin. It works fine for external
                      URL's ( full http:/... ) , but if I want resolve the filename to point A5webroot/pdfs folder.

                      // handleDocumentWithURL(
                      // function() {console.log('success');},
                      // function(error) {
                      // console.log('failure');
                      // if(error == 53) {
                      // console.log('No app that handles this file type.');
                      // }
                      // },
                      // filename );
