Chart Events Question

I want to get the "category" in the in the event. Doesn't anyone know how? The category is not "exposed" and for me it is the only thing I need to be able to drill down into the chart.

I want to click on the category in the chart and have a list show the detail.

Lee... now that I see it... what, specifically, would you like to be able to do? The "category" here is RN, PT, MD... is that correct? Detail what you like to click on and what you'd like to have happen.

The chart on the left is how I want it to look with the numbers on the chart. However, when I click on it, I want the job RN or MD or whatever to pop like the chart on the right.
I really want the category to be exposed in the event.

I understand this is a static test, but you should be able to achieve this with dynamic data as well. You'll just need to get at the data feeding into your chart.

For this test, however, here's how to get what you need. Your data, as you've defined it in the XBasic function is RN, PT, MD. This order, as you've defined it, is important... even though the chart re-orders it alphabetically.

We know the category data, and so, in the click event, we load that data into an array. Alpha gives us the index into that array in chart.pointNumber. So the code is...
