Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

WEBCAM IMAGE CAPTURE USING WebRTC on browser/PC

I have spent my morning reading this interesting article :

    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/...g_still_photos

I would like to adopt it into Alpha Anywhere for me & everyone to share right here.
It is beyond my knowledge & thought would save time & in the spirit of sharing

I appreciate your assistance & suggestion to bring this to a working model for everyone here.

The attached UX is working with picture showing and photo taking action.

    Known condition:

    * I know this only work on Chrome , which is ok
    * You must do this on Chrome browser preview
    * It will not work on working preview or live preview
    * You will get an error when start up this app (not sure why)

    List of problem to solve:
    * Why do I get error on startup ?
    * Can someone explain ( by the way despite this error, it is still working)
    * On your Chrome browser, taking picture is a snap , BUT why do I ending up with TWO IMAGES ?
I only want one image ?

What have I done wrong here ?

    * I create the same function as they suggested & hoping to be able to "take picture" with my own button
again, no response (this one not important, since the article provided one embedded in the image)

We eventually want to control the picture taking action

    Final Wishes :

    * IF we resolve the above issue,
    * Lastly .... How do I move/copy that image into alpha List control.
I know how to move an alpha image object ? into List control

But this image is not in one of our known property.

I thanks in advance & appreciate your assistance.

Here is the picture showing TWO images !!!
I only need one, but when the function executed,
I ending up with double images.

Also notice the ordinary Alpha5 button contain the same function
but it would not take picture.

Specially thanks to Mr. David Funderburk.
This WebRtc can only be done from a Chrome Browser.
Otherwise, it is a perfect solution for typical over counter membership photo taking
with your ordinary web-cam ... Done from a PC with Chrome browser running.
If you are interested to know more, just drop me a PM.

      Conclusion:
At the end of the day, Alpha's image capture functionality with Android & Ios devices
      would be the best choice.

Re: WEBCAM IMAGE CAPTURE USING WebRTC on browser/PC

This lastest version is now working very well on Chrome browser only.
Appreciate you sharing back your experience on making this work on IE or Safari

webRTC plug in for safari or IE ?

        After Photo Taken from button
The image now pasted to an ordinary Alpha's image property.
you can do whatever you wish with it.

To make this as a membership photo ID project (like you seen at Costco)
        you need the :

        "Zebra" label printer module.
Be happy to share with you ...

        your comment is greatly appreciated.

              Chinedu,
what specifically you want to accomplish ?
this is a basic any kind of web cam connected to a pc via USB
or a simple notebook with built in web camera.

video being streamed to your web page and a button to grab an image and
pasted to an alpha image property.

Perhaps someone more familiar with grid or desktop can explain better.
I am almost completely testing project on UX component only.
