Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

I don't think Safari on Windows would know if a truck hit it.. I don't think they care ..

In the notes of this official release - I could see earlier versions had a data cache BUG..
    Alpha Anywhere V4.3.1 -Build 3962-4772 14-Nov-2016
So I installed it and the issue was resolved - now maybe i'm just lucky today ( as it was do or die ) with the client - but it worked on all devices - including the ones with earlier issues.
    Just - saying..

Building version 2 of an app and just running into all sorts of problems on iPhones, so I loaded up a desktop Safari and found, at first, it wasn't even storing to local storage. Now it seems to be doing that, but perhaps not reading from it - haven't figured that out yet. I did what Pete suggests here, no change.

And, Safari (version 5.1.7 (7534.57.2) on Windows also isn't displaying SVG icons in some places but does fine in others.

I'm putting this up not to complain, but to invite others' solutions, and I'll post what I find/fix otherwise.

Back in June I spent a lot of time with Selwyn on this ...
    This was the solution..

First up late last night I did more research and found out that safari can have issue with its website data and by selecting to remove all website data can fix issues. I did this on the iPads with the issue and now your tests and my cache data all appear and the drop downs work fine - as I thought there had to be something obscure - I hope this process has helped you understand just what can surface as an issue for developers, it has me.

This is the link that triggered the solution Link

If you post a QRCode, I'll install and have a look. I'll assume you're running on an Android device.

I'm not sure what "sesetit" means but I'd be surprised if Safari enters into the equation here.

Safari is the culprit here - you have to g right back in safari and sesetit on the device - clear all the history etc as it gets messed up. Its shows up mostly in older devices.

    Client-Side Data Cache inexplicably failing

I am building an app that reads from SQL Server via the client-side data cache and while this works on my local database when I publish it to AWS (which is running the alpha server and the database) I get an alert that just states "failed" for each callback. From looking through SQL Profiler I can see that the data is getting grabbed at that point so I believe that the disconnect is somewhere either in the Alpha Server or after the data is pushed to the device. I've checked in Chrome Debugger and there are no error messages. I've messed with almost every setting in PhoneGap and the Server just to see if it would at least change the response. I'm not really sure where to go from here.

    Thanks!
Working...
