Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

UX Mobile Login gave me headache!!!!

Hello to all that check this question that i made, first of all i'm sorry for my bad english, so straight to the point let me tell the step that makes me not sleeping well these past few days LoL

    1. I make a Web Project for Managing Sales Fleet, everything fine and working well
    2. Then i add a PhoneGap Projects to the above webproject making UX component mob_login as guided in the video
    3. Then as tutorial showed me i published the project and do the phonegap things as to make .apk

The problem is after i made the apk and installed it on device and ran it, the mob_login.a5wcmp get replaced by the index.a5w

I have set the mob_login to be always allowed, so why it get redirect to index.a5w on my device?

    Your English is good.

The main UX has to live on the index page.

Thank you Peter, but it means replacing my login box with the mob_login isn't it, cause the web app and the mobile app are in the same workspace?

Take a look at the applauncher. That's how you would control whether the user gets the web login or the mobile login. Search on applauncher in the video library to get started.

          Hary,

The AppLauncher component is designed for use with web applications running under browsers only. You enter a single URL to hit from a browser on a desktop or mobile device which is your AppLauncher component. The Applauncher then determines (based on your coding of the AppLauncher) if you're a mobile device or desktop or whatever. The AppLauncher then does all the login stuff and then redirects you to the appropriate web desktop page or web mobile page.

The moment you introduce PhoneGap Build into the mix, you are no longer dealing with the AppLauncher or any other separate login component. You are now going to use the UX Integrated Login functionality. This builds login functionality into the UX which is then rendered into the index page and submitted to PGB. The Web Security settings essentially, and for the most part, now have no effect on the UX Integrated Login stuff. You use events on the Server and Client side of the UX to control what happens for a login.

I couldn't find any AppLauncher videos in the Alpha/Help/Video Finder, but there is a good video in this library on the UX Integrated Login stuff: UX_V12--65

Here is the videos I was referring to:

Edit: Just scanned those videos. They may be helpful but there is no mention of the applauncher in them as David already knew.

              David,
I wanted to build a PG app for my web application, so just as "flathat" did I just did it not realizing the issues with security. I soon learned I had to use the integrated solution. Is there any sort of video or tutorial I can use to setup "security" for my phonegap application? Wouldn't it use the same settings? All suggestions or comments on how this works are welcome.
I also found out that the app launcher wasn't going to solve anything either related to a native application, so I just made a simple UX and still I cannot log in, etc.
I use sql and my own SQL tables as per the alpha wiki - using SQL tables for security.

I think I want to setup another Alpha server using a different port like 83 and upload my additional resources there - is that a good plan? Thoughts?
