Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Images in a list control not allowed to load local resource error

This is in the CURRENT release V4 btw...

I have an image field in a list control that is giving me the "not allowed to load local resource" error.
This is in a published UX, live on my server, not local.

The path error is showing in google's developer tools as
    Code:
Not allowed to load local resouce: file:///C:/a5v12/A5Webroot//Images/Invoicelogs/54cb9c777b8944c49b39391f99f4c47c.jpg
This particular list is also btw a child list set to pre-load the data, although I cannot see how that would make a diff.
This path is in my webroot and valid...

in the image transform, I played with all the variations I could find.
    I have tried <absolute><value>
<value>, and of course a blank entry in the image transform, etc because I don't think I should even need to transform the path.

I can show these images in a UX and a grid no problem.

Now if I type the url as
    https://www.nwcopro.com/Images/Invoi...1f99f4c47c.jpg
that of course is a valid path and the image shows...

Anyone have any ideas how to get my image to show in a list control where the path is stored as such?
There's nothing wet and wild about the images or this post but I thought an interesting title would get me an interesting and FAST answer, lol.
    Thanks!

why are these in the address? /// and these two /A5Webroot//
    file:///C:/a5v12/A5Webroot//Images/Invoicelogs/54cb9c777b8944c49b39391f99f4c47c.jpg

I do not know, they are not like that in the database. The stored value starts with C: however the double slashes at A5webroot// are what is in the database.
They get stored via another UX with an image upload button...

I am starting to think this is a bug or something, I have done all the looking around I can do and cannot see a way to fix it. Alpha is adding in the slashes and should be able to load that a resource in the webroot - the URL is weird though and I am planning on submitting this as a bug tomorrow morning.

Testing so far, this is related to the list being a child list - removing the parent the images show, which is no good because I am using the parent list to filter the results. I sent this in a few minutes ago, so hopefully Selwyn will have time tomorrow.

Re: Images in a list control not allowed to load local resource error

Fix in tomorrows build...it was an issue with the parent list, etc. So as it were, if you have list that has an image field, with a file transformation template that is filtered by a parent list you might get the "failed to load local resource" error.
So - that was pretty dang quick!
Quite honestly, there is a much better way to do what I wanted, and I achieved that this morning by using the search part of the list control to filter the images based on the fields I wanted without the parent list and that is what I wanted, however - it was some sort of issue AND that has been fixed.
