Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    MobileAppFramework_PanelNavigator_with_TabButtons

    Hi,

    I am having a problem with CSS and wondering if somebody can help.

    I created a project using the UX Component Template "MobileAppFramework_PanelNavigator_with_TabButtons", which gives CSS Tab buttons and Panel navigators to start with (see attached screenshot).

    I was trying to change the colour of CSS icon and instead of making changes in style sheet, I used the "Button text inline style" property of the CSS Button. It changed the colour ok but removed the Button Focus property which suppose to change colour when CSS Button is active.

    Now I am trying to bring back this change effect on button focus with no luck. I've tried removing the Button text inline style colour and checked the Xbasic code to remove any hard coded colour values but still I am not get the Button Focus property working.

    If a create a new UX Component with same template then its working ok so problem is somewhere in my existing UX component.

    Any idea why this is happening. Anyway to check or fix this in the code?

    Or is there way to create a new UX Component and import all the controls, images, text etc. from my existing UX component? Ive done a lot work and coding which I don't want to lose.

    Many thanks for your help!

    Kind Regards,

    Shahzad Rashid

    Shahzad,

    You don't say if you're trying to change the colour of ALL the buttons... e.g. from their default blue, to something else... or if you want to make all the buttons different colours.

    Removing your in-line style should have worked... but then again... you mention changing XBasic code... which has me baffled. Why would you apply XBasic code to this process. Not sure what that means.

    Did you touch the UX Properties, Local CSS Definitions? That's where all this magic is actually happening.

    The PanelFooter surrounding the buttons has this as a Class...

    Code:
    iOS7PanelFooter tabBar
    It's the tabBar class that we're interested in.

    The UX Properties, Local CSS Definitions... has this, by default for this UX...

    Code:
    .tabBar .iOS7Button {
    	padding: 0px;
    	font-size: 8pt;
    	color: #aaa;
    	background:transparent;
    	border: none;
    	outline: none;
    }
    .tabBar .iOS7ButtonPressed {
    	padding: 0px;
    	font-size: 8pt;
    	color: #007AFF;
    }
    This is what makes the buttons greyed out at rest, and blue when pressed. Changing the colour of the .iOS7ButtonPressed section will change the colour of all the buttons.

    To change the colour of just one of the buttons... you could add the following to this definition...

    Code:
    .iOS7ButtonPressed2 {
    	padding: 0px;
    	font-size: 8pt;
    	color:#ff0000 !important;
    }
    Then, for the button you want to change... add this to the Button Class Pressed Property...

    Code:
    {style}ButtonPressed2
    {style} will pick up the default style... in my case iOS7... and ButtonPressed2 will take over setting the icon colour to red.

    To fix what you have, make sure that default Local CSS Definition is in place and that your PanelFooter class is in place.

    If you're still having trouble getting it back to default, post your UX and I'll have a look.

        Re: MobileAppFramework_PanelNavigator_with_TabButtons

        Dear David

        Thank you very much for your reply.

        I am about to finish the work and then i'll be off till Thu next week, so I'll try your suggestions on return.

        To quickly answer your questions:

        I am trying to change colour of all the buttons to black and then when pressed change it to blue.

        I first set the colour using Inline style, then I removed it and changed in .tabBar .iOS7ButtonPressed, but somehow this didn't work. The colour stays black even when its pressed.

        Then I switched to XBasic code on my UX component and noticed that following part of code had colour value set in CSS Icon to black:
        icon: 'cssIcon=fa fa-camera-retrohome fa-2x {color: #000000;}',

        So that's where I removed the "{color: #000000;}" bit in Xbasic code.

        Anyways, I may have screwed up something trying to make changes in different ways, so i'll let you know next week.

        many Thanks,

        Shahzad
