Here?s the setup:
Read Only Grid with Editable Detail View.
When I Click the ?Add Record? link on the bottom of the Grid, I?m presented the detail form where I can add a new entry.

The form is for storing information about a Bank or Agency and the Address is a Foreign Key field to a table called ?Addresses?
I don?t want to have to display the textbox for Address, but the state you see it in above is my attempt to creatively work around the problem.
The ?Lookup Address? link is built in functionality and all I?ve done is change the Icon to Text.
Upon clicking the ?Lookup Address? an Addresses grid pops up and I can select or add a new address from the Addresses Grid. When I select one this is what the form looks like on return.

I used a custom query to bring in all the Address fields from the Address Table so that in my ?Lookup? definition I could map the fields from the Addresses grid to fields on my form.
Most of this is ok with me and I set the Address foreign key field to ?Must select from list? so they can?t free type in there.
However, I have a couple concerns.
1) Is there a better way of doing this, Foreign Key lookup fields to large lists where a simple dropdown is too limited are very common in our environment
2) If this is the preferred way, why do I have to show the address foreign key field with a key value to the end users?
Thanks in advance for any tips.
