How do I automatically Refresh the Combo List?

How do I automatically Refresh the Combo List? I have a combo box for lookup for example for a customer, I added an add button beside it to open a list component for me to add a new customer, I added a button to refresh the parent list but the new customer name is not visible on the combo box, I would not want to hit F5 as it will refresh the browser window and I will loose previously encoded data.

here is something for you to try:
create a dialog/ux for the lookup table that will be used for the combo lookup. ( this will be called on the button click event)
for the lookup definion, fill in rest of the the necessary fields in the popup. for example the display will be ajax callback. uncheck the use cache. and save.
now go and try. does this work as you wanted?

If yu simply whant to refresh the dropdoen then I think the piece of the puzzle you need is
{dialog.Object}.refreshDropdownBoxChoices(controlName [,dynamicFilter [,dynamicFilterArguments [,selectedValue [,currentRSRowOnly]]]]);


Here is the help on it

//refresh the choices in the DropdownBox for the 'products' control.
{dialog.object}.refreshDropdownBoxChoices('PRODUCTS');
//refresh the choices and set the select to 'PRODUCT_X'
{dialog.object}.refreshDropdownBoxChoices('PRODUCTS','','','PRODUCT_X');
//refresh the choices and filter choices to only show items where the 'type' field is 'a' and 'code' field is 'x'
