Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Have you killed the app server program entirely? ...so that it doesn't show up in the task manager? Grasping at straws here but maybe a server reboot? Reinstall the app server? If it was me I'd be trying these things.

What version is your app server? Is your developer the same version?

I used the Task manager to kill the instance so many times and restarted normally. Yes is v12 am using both the developer and the appserver, it has been working very well for over 8months now without any issues.

          Thank you.

You can try the following one at a time ans see if any one works :

            1. Stop your firewall temporarily and see if anything changes

            2. Check your Windows Event Log. This may provide useful information of what's happening behind the scenes

            Let me know what happens.

I have disable even uninstall the firewall completely, but the problem persist, i even use resource monitor to check on it. The server is commissioned with 6GB of RAM, 64bit system type, processor of Es640@ 2.67GHz 2.67GHz. I was not having any issues with it since i deployed my solution on it over 6months now, i cant tell why is happening now. what i noticed is the Alphaserver is utilizing almost the CPU resource still it cant process anything, not that the application has much traffic, its only 5 users that can access the application through the URL, even if they login at the same time which i have tried before it doesn't slow the performance of the server. I think something much have went wrong with the Alpha Application Server.
I have other application that am running on another server that has much traffic than this one as it is a public application which has the same server spec with this one and almost two thousand users, and it was running smoothly without any hiccups.

Am having headache since because of this, should i reinstall the Alpha application server and will not affect the database application am running on it, am just confused because i don't want anything that will affect it in anyway. I need any urgent answer to this.

              Thank you Gilbert.

In your first post you say "rolling endlessly and when i login to the server where i install the Appserver, to edit/open it, it keep showing endless not responding". There is no use asking any other question until we know what you mean by that? What is it actually "doing"? Or the easier thing is to just give one of us the URL to the live application and login credentials to see it for ourselves.

                    Re: APPserver not responding

Just a long shot: what you are describing remembers me at a headache issue we had 1-2 month ago.
Can it be that you upgraded another programm that activated IIS on the server? (which can block the appserver)

That's what happend when we upgraded mailenable on our server....

                      Re: APPserver not responding

Well all we can do is keep guessing. You need to turn on Logging and capture any errors or to watch for usage. After that step, you need to recall if you recently applied an Alpha update, and if so possibly patch back to an earlier version to see if that fixes it. Or you need someone who is more familiar with the Alpha server to go to your site and see it for themselves.
