Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Login Information is Incorrect

    Hi,
I am publishing website to a remote IIS server. The website is published well but when I create new user using my AA developer version,I am not able to login into website. It says 'login information is incorrect'. The same user can login while publishing on local webroot. New Username and password is saved in sql database. I can view userid and password(its encrypted) using Sql Server Management Studio.
How can I make sure the database used by the remote server is updated to include the new Users and be able to login?
    thank you.

most likely that when you use developer version the data is stored in your computer local host, and not in the web server located elsewhere.
i would publish all components and add the user at the public site and see if that works. since the data will be stored wherever the sqldatabase the server is looking at.

      Re: Login Information is Incorrect

      Hi GGandhi,
Thanks for your reply. I can not add user from published website because in-order to add users I have to log in with admin account.I am storing database to the remote sql server via ip address.I think IIS server is not publishing the web security data tables correctly.I can say that because my wwwroot folder in remote server does not contain .dbp or .dbf files. But in local'in A5webroot' they exists!. So can you tell me how can I make my IIS server to publish web Security data tables correctly?

        Re: Login Information is Incorrect

in order to go further please clarify that you have setup the web security files on the server ( public not your development machine ) and is working properly.
if you have done that then you should be able to login with admin privileges and add users.
there are articles on web server security and sql refer to them for any fine tuning then check it out to see if working.

          Re: Login Information is Incorrect

          Rajen,
Did you move from the WAS to IIS? If so, did you run the bulk update operation to update the security for IIS?

          2016-06-23_9-38-16.png

Also, when you published to IIS the first time, you have to tell it to "replace all users and roles". Did you do this?

          Publish.png

NOTE: the Application Server for IIS and Application Server have separate security data and DO NOT sync between each other. Changes made to security data by the app running under Application Server for IIS will not be recognized by the app running under the Application Server and vice versa. If a user changes their password with the app running under the Application Server for IIS, it will not be changed in the app running under the Application Server.
