Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Are there any Alpha Anywhere V12 Smart Phone Apps available on the market?

Can any of you list yours (or someone else's) commercial grade quality Smart Phone app that has been made entirely by AA V12?

I am referring to an app that has more than just a small niche appeal (and market). I want to know if such apps can be made to be available from places like Google Play Store, Iphone apps or Kindle Store.

Have you (they) been able to monetize such apps made through this environment. Please let us know!

It's a valid question Tom, I have some but I'm not a main stream app builder work only in niche markets. Sorry - but will be interested in the response.

This is from about 1.5 years ago. Android only. This app took about a day based on an Alpha demo app. I could do much better now.

      https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...com.gcs.airreg

The advanced search is now a bit messed up due to a change in the data structure from the provider of the aircraft registry data which I will fix one day. I also have a bunch of niche market apps.

I've got a user customizable inspection report app coming soon

      Cheers

Re: Are there any Alpha Anywhere V12 Smart Phone Apps available on the market?

When I started this thread I was hoping to find that there has been some successful use of the product in a market that would need to support tens of thousands of visitors. From the submissions that I was able to review, I do not get that feeling of mass visitor capacity.
I always admired A5 for it's ability to meet my niche market requirements but I don't believe it was ever made for a truly "large" visitor count and "large" hits to a SQL backend.

If someone out there can suggest a product that is more suited to meet the requirements listed above, it would be truly helpful.

I am pretty sure the backend has as much to do with large hits as the front. Bandwidth and all that stuff. NOT cheap stuff.

Most PHP, JS, .net, java, and other stuff can handle it if the backend is sufficient. The setup is a major factor!

Possibly need Cloud based depending on how many hits per minute.

This site has had 840,181 visittors total since it actually went live 8.5 months ago. It is on a shared Linux hosted server. There are images, data, a few movies and more where people may be there from 10 second to 1 hour at a time.
Do you need to handle more than that.
While there is NO phone app, it works pretty darned good on all phones/tablets as can be seen by what the visitors and main users log on with.

Re: Are there any Alpha Anywhere V12 Smart Phone Apps available on the market?

                  Hi Tom,

We actually just launched our app in both iTunes and Google Play and it is a commercial app built solely in AA and PhoneGap (OK, PG Build, DK ;-)). We submitted on Friday 7/29 to Google Play (around noon west coast time) and they approved it in about 1.5 hours.

We submitted to iTunes around 6pm that same Friday and got a response (with questions) on Monday morning. We replied to the questions (in about 15 minutes) and did not hear back until late Tuesday morning when we heard it was approved (and they actually logged in - Google did not).

Our website is www.MySchoolAnywhere.com (also 100% AA after login) and our users are just starting to switch from our web mobile app to the installable. So far we've had around 1,400 logins but that will start to increase quickly (our customers are parent teacher associations - and all their families - so we are just getting into our back-to-school season where volume ramps up quickly).

We created a login to our demo account for anyone who wants to check it out.

Happy to have any feedback or answer any questions about it.
