Set Initial Values from Parent Grid

I am trying to set up a child grid to record customer payments. Most of the time the payment is done with the credit card of the same customer, but not all the time. I want the child grid (payments) to get the name of the customer and put it in the credit card holder name as the initial value, but just as an initial value, I can be able to change it if I need it and also it has to be ONLY for the first payment record. Then for the next payments of the customer to get the info from the previous payment also as initial values, but I can be able to change it if needed.

Example:

Parent Grid

Name
Jane Doe

Child Grid (case first payment)
New Record -> Name Card Number
Jane Doe (value from parent)

Child grid (case name is not the same as the parent, I manually change it and enter the required info)
New Record -> Name Card Number
John Smith 1234 1234 1234 1234

Child grid (case 2nd payment for the same customer)
1st Record -> Name Card Number
John Smith 1234 1234 1234 1234

New Record->Name Card Number
John Smith 1234 1234 1234 1234 (All values gotten automatically from previous payment as initial values)

while I haven't tested this out, here is some code you can try and see if it works. if it does not, please post back I will then run a test.
on the field customer name onFocus event you add this code, add the credit card number the same way for the name.

var rowNum = {Grid.object}._selectedRow;
if (window["default_name"]) {

{grid.Object}.setValue('G','CUSTOMER_NAME',rowNum,dName);
} else {
var po = {grid.Object}.getParentObject();
if (po) {

window["default_name"] = dName;
}
}

then on the same customer name field onChange event add this code

var newName = {grid.Object}.getValue('G','CUSTOMER_NAME',{Grid.RowNumber});
var dName = window["default_name"];
if (newName != dName) {
window["default_name"] = newName;
{grid.Object}.setValue('G','CREDIT_CARD_NUMBER',rowNum,''); // because since you changed the name the number will need to be erased

}

in both situation you need to store the credit card info as you did for the name and update the credit card info as you did for the name.
as you can see I am using the parent grid as a single form object using 'D', change it to your need to 'G' if that is what you are after.
finally some unsolicited information.
why Grid and Child Grid when you are in version 12, ux will work better with list etc., is that not the case?

Thank you Gandhi, with that code the fields are changing to Blank fields, even the ones already saved.

For now I'm just updating some old grids I had from a previous Alpha version to get the job done while I work out the new UX.

Thank you very much Gandhi, I removed the rn declaration like you did and the second part (getting the name from the previous record from the payments grid) is working perfect. The first part, getting the name from the parent grid is not working. The parent grid does not have a detail part, so I used the G instead of D, and it is pretty similar to the payments grid, so I don't know if I need to pass the row number of the parent grid too.

on the onChange event change the rowNum to {grid.RowNumber}

First, you can see it is not "pulling the name from the parent grid,
In the second, you can see it is getting the name from the previous row of the payments grid.

two things
it appears to be row expander, is that correct?
and you have hidden the id connecting these two grids, is that correct?
or simply show the grid and child grid fields to understand bette.

since you are dealing with the grid you need to get the row number and then assign the name variable so I have added selectedRow property
and redid the grid with row expander.
