Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Re: Sending SMS with SMS Twilio Action

    I am not at my computer, won't be for a week so I cannot be certain, but your JavaScript has an error, I do not know that is causing it
    The dialog object should be
    {dialog.object}
    You are missing the right smiley, -picture2
    Also the call to JavaScript function should end in () -picture1
    If you correct these still won't work post back. When I come back I will post additional code for you.
    thanks for reading

      Gandhi
      Thanks for your help ..... hopefully your are away on some R&R!
      When you get back in the office or if someone else can advise on changing the one line of code you suggested needed changing (in red),
      to send result set to the Twilio action, instead of a UX textbox
      I have experimented with many different ideas, but I am just guessing:)

      function xb as c (e as p)
      dim cn as sql::Connection
      dim result as l = .f.
      dim sqlSelect as c
      dim rs as sql::ResultSet
      dim txt as c = ""
      dim js as c
      result = cn.Open("::Name::local_MySql")
      if result then
      sqlSelect = "SELECT * FROM customer"
      result = cn.Execute(sqlSelect)
      if result then
      rs = cn.ResultSet
      result = rs.nextRow()
      while result
      txt = txt + rs.data("phone_number") + ","
      result = rs.nextRow()
      end while
      end if
      cn.close()
      end if
      js = "{dialog.object}.setValue('RESULT', '" +txt+"');" // you do not need this line change it to render the phone numbers only
      xb = js
      end function

      Thanks

        Re: Sending SMS with SMS Twilio Action

        Okay, I will back in New York on Monday, in the meantime all you need to do to return the txt to the browser is to change the line xb = js to xb = txt
        That will return the long string as a return value to the browser. When you change that line the function returns txt to the browser and hence available to you
        If not solved by Monday I will rewrite the code for you.

        Ps: do not include line in red, delete that line
        thanks for reading

            Gandhi
            I am still not able to send text messages to multiple phone numbers using code
            But, after doing some more testing, I am not able to send text messages to multiple phone numbers within the on click event Action Javascript "Send SMS Text Message Using Twilio"
            by "typing" in multiple phone numbers separated by a comma. (as shown in pic)

            Twilio5.PNG

            I can "type" in one phone number and successfully send text as shown in this picture

            Twilio4.PNG

            I can still successfully send to one phone number by setting to {phone}

            Thanks

              Re: Sending SMS with SMS Twilio Action

              i do not have version 12 nor twillo to work with since i do not have a need yet. so i cannot provide detailed instructions, however twillo knowledge base reveals this:
              Can I set up one API call to send messages to a list of people?

              Each new SMS message from Twilio must be sent with a separate REST API request. To initiate messages to a list of recipients, you must make a request for each number to which you would like to send a message. The best way to do this is to build an array of the recipients and iterate through each phone number.
              so i think your ux should handle this differently.
