Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    PhoneGap issues

I'm having problems trying to upload a new version of an app to PhoneGap build. The only difference between this version and the previous version is that I have added a SQLite db. Every time I try to upload I get an error message stating "Build not available for Android at this time". I have tried changing the PhoneGap version but it makes no difference. Has anyone else had similar problems?

If you remove the SQLite db does it build?

I just added a SQLite db to a current PGB app and it built without issue.

Could be the service was just down when you tried?

    You could also check out...

Using the CLI (Command Line Interface) to Build PhoneGap Applications instead of PhoneGap Build
in the latest pre-release build. More involved... but takes PGB out of the process.

      Re: PhoneGap issues

      Hello David,

Removing the SQLite db doesn't help, I still get the same message. I'll try the CLI method (if I can work it out).

      Thanks

Have you checked the log under PhoneGap Build? Is this a signed app?

It looks like the document handler plugin is not available.

            <plugin name="ch.ti8m.documenthandler" />
This is the document handler although I have also included Bob Moore's document handler plug in from github.

              Re: PhoneGap issues

Is the document handler plugin something new you added? Or... was this originally an older build? I don't think the DocumentHandler made it into the new NPM plugin repository... it looks quite old on the git site... and quite possibly is no longer supported. What are you doing with it?

However, if you still need to use it, then you must specify it's source. Currently, the source, because it's not specified, is, by default, NPM. To point to this plugin on git you'll need to change the config.xml for that plugin so that it reads...

              Code:
              <plugin spec="https://github.com/ti8m/DocumentHandler.git" source="git" />
Or you can remove that plugin altogether, and just check Bob Moore's version... but you can't/shouldn't have both.

No this was an older app that I have been reworking. I am using it to open a pdf report based on HTML.I have tried to remove it from the config.xml but it still fails and shows in the error log.

                  Re: PhoneGap issues

If it's for PDF then you could have a look at the cordova-open plugin which is current and on NPM. Otherwise, take a look at additional notes I added on my previous post.

                    Re: PhoneGap issues

Thanks David, I replaced the npm reference with github and it worked. I found the email plugin didn't work either.

                    Thanks again for your help.

                      Re: PhoneGap issues

Whichever plugins you can switch over to source from NPM would be good. Anything like the DocumentHandler that can be replaced would be a good idea as well.
