Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

CustomControl (other controls) not rendering inside a PanelCard

Anyone ever got a CustomControl (from section "Other Controls") to work inside a PanelCard ?

I am using XBasic as the method for defining control but when UX is run I only get the following coming up in the place where the customControl has been placed :

    [[customControl:render_form]]

My XBasic function name is "render_form"

    I am using Build 4119_4825

Anyone else having this issue ?
    Help !!! Please

Re: CustomControl (other controls) not rendering inside a PanelCard

I'm seeing the same results. I don't know if this is an issue or expected behaviour... however... try this to display your unbound Custom Control within a PanelCard.

Place an Injectible Content Container around your Custom Control... and move all three lines to the end of your UX... oustide your PanelCard or PanelNavigator.

Next, add a Placeholder control into your PanelCard. Now, set the Properties for your Injectible Content Container to:

    Injectible target type: Placeholder
Injectible target placeholder: your placeholder id

This will render your Custom Control outside the PanelCard... and then inject it into the Placeholder.

      Thank you David.
      Works well !
I was considering that method for a while but didn't think it would make a difference.
Ques: When you said you were seeing the same unexpected behavior, were you seeing the unexpected behavior with the latest Stable i.e. 4254_4863 ?

Not sure if it's unexpected or not. The same behaviour is in 4254 and the latest pre-release.

I've reported this... Selwyn is looking at it. Selwyn reported that turning on pre-render for the UX component allows it to work.

Want to hear something strange ?

The html elements in a customControl within a PanelCard does not respond to iPad Pro pencil (stylus).
The only thing it allows the pencil to do is to scroll the entire customControl but no element such as textboxes, checkboxes, etc respond to touch. Finger touch works.
Once I move the customControl outside of a PaneCard the pencil touch works.

I am only having this problem with iPad Pro but not with other tablets.

Wondering how to resolve this issue.

Post a sample UX showing the Custom Control elements you've created. I'll have a look.

Why do you need to create Custom Controls for TextBoxes, CheckBoxes, etc? Just curious.

Re: CustomControl (other controls) not rendering inside a PanelCard

I am using customControls to provide user with customize forms stored in a database.

I have now concluded that the new iPad pencil on a iPad Pro does not work with controls within a PanelCard.
This is looking like a bug
